Malik Saif ud din Ghuri - Vakil-us-Saltanat. A
powerful and able Bahamani minster who served and strengthened the empire since
its establishment died very next day after Muhammad II's death.
Taghlachin was the Head of Turkish faction in
Bahamani kingdom. It raised after the Death of Muhammad Shah Bahamani -II's
death. Taghlachin was aspiring for either the post of 'Governor of Gulbarga' or
'Vakil-us-Saltanat', which fell vacant after the death of Malik Saif uddin
Ghuri.
Unfortunately Ghiazudding Was infatuated by the
beauty of Taghlachin's daughter. One day Ghiazudding rightly used the situation
and blinded Ghiazuddin. Taghlachin raised to the throne Ghiyasiddin's younger
half brother, Shamsuddin Daud Shah. Shamsuddin Daud Shah's mother was a maid
servant of Taghlachin's mother. With her support Taghlachin became the regent
of the kingdom. This degradation of the royal family was not tolerated by the
late king's cousins Firuz and Ahmad. Taghlachin was over powered, Shams ud din
was deposed and Feruz Khan ascended the throne as sultan Taj-ud-din Firuz Shah
on 16 November 1397. Ghiyas-ud-din, the blinded and deposed king, who had been
kept in confinement at Sagar, was brought to Gulbarga, and Taghalchin was
produced before the monarch whom he had so basely treated. The blind
Ghiyas-ud-din with a sword struck at Taghalchin and slew him. 1397 (April - June)
