With his talent, Qutb ud din rose from the
humble position of a slave to the sultan of Delhi. As most of the early Delhi
Sultans were slaves, the dynasty came to be called as Slave dynasty / Mamleuk
Dynasty.
During his early days Qutb ud din Aibak was a
slave of a Qazi. Later he became a slave of Muhammad of Ghor.
Qutb ud din Aibak participated in 2nd
battle of Tarain / sthaneshwar and battle of Chandawar.
When Ghor was busy with battles, Aibak looked
after the administrative affairs of his Indian kingdom.

A.D. Qutb ud din Aibak suppressed the revolts at
Ajmeer and Meerut.

Qutb ud din Aibak strengthened his position with
matrimonial affairs.
Qutb ud din Aibak married the daughter of Taj ud
din yulduz, Ghor’s governor
of the place Ghazni.
Qutb ud din Aibak gave his sister in marriage to
Nasiruddin Qabacha, governor of Punjab.
Qutb ud din Aibak gave his daughter in marriage
to his military general Iltutmish.
Aibak shifted capital from Lahore to Delhi.
Aibak’s
title was ‘Lakh Baksh’, means giver / donor of lakhs.
Aibak
occupied Ghazni by defeating Taj ud din Yulduz. After sometime Yulduz drove
away Aibak from Ghazni.
Aibak
suppressed the revolt of Alimardan. Iqtiyar ud din Muhammad was the governor of
Bengal. After the death of Iqtiyar ud din Muhammad, Alimardan revolted in
Bengal.After suppressing the revolt Muhammad Sheran was appointed as the
governor of Bengal.
Qutb ud din Aibak started the construction of
Qutb Minar. Actually he started it in the honour of a sufi guru Qutb ud din
Bhakthiyar Kaki. Qutb Minar is also called Minar – e – Shamsi.
Aibak constructed Quvvat ul Islam mosque in
Delhi.
Aibak constructed Adai din ka jopra in Ajmeer.

and Fakhruddin.
Qutb ud din Aibak died accidentally while
playing polo / Chougan.

ud din Muhammad was one of Aibak’s military generals.
