Qasim Khan A Mughal noble, he was appointed by Shah Jahan as governor of
Bengal with orders to exterminate the Portuguese traders who had settled
in Bengal but had been abusing their right to trade. He captured
Hughli in
1632 and succeeded in checking the Portuguese.
