Ramanand One of the earliest Bhhakti saints of north India (15th century),
he was born
at Allahabad in a Brahmin family. Though he belonged to the
north, he
spent a significant part of his life in the south and was influenced by
Ramanuja.
He was a worshipper of Rama and preached to all without
distinction
of caste and sex. Amongst his disciples, were Kabir, a Muslim
weaver and
Padmavati.
