Atisha
Dipankara A renowned Vajrayana Buddhist monk and preacher
(ad
981–1054) of the Pala period, his original name was Chandragarbha. He
served as
the principal of the Vikramasila University for about 18 years, and
later went
to Tibet and preached there for 12 years.
