Bahadur Shah Ruler of Gujarat (1526–37), he defeated his neighbours like
the Sultan
of Malwa and Rana of Mewar, and extended his territories at their
cost.
Though he was defeated and deprived of his kingdom by Humayun in
1535, he
soon recovered it by driving out the occupying Mughal forces. But
in 1537 he
is said to have been drowned while holding discussions with the
Portuguese
on board one of their ships.
